Child Support

Establishing, modifying, or enforcing child support orders — Trey Loftin ensures the financial needs of your children are properly addressed under Texas law.

Child Support in Texas

Texas uses a percentage-of-income formula to calculate child support. The non-custodial parent pays a percentage of their net monthly income based on the number of children: 20% for one child, 25% for two, 30% for three, 35% for four, and 40% for five or more.

However, courts can deviate from the guidelines when the circumstances warrant — including when a parent has very high or very low income, when children have special needs, or when there are significant childcare or medical expenses. Trey Loftin ensures that child support orders reflect the true financial circumstances of both parents and the genuine needs of the children.

Establishing Support
Setting the initial child support order based on income, custody arrangements, and the children's needs.
Modifying Support
When circumstances change materially — job loss, income change, custody modification — support orders can be modified.
Enforcing Support
When a parent fails to pay court-ordered support, Trey pursues enforcement through wage garnishment, contempt, and other remedies.
